Production
The industrial activity of Ferriera Valsider rolling mill is divided into two different production lines: heavy plate mill and coil mill.
Heavy plate mill
This rolling line was designed for a production capacity of up to 420,000 tons of heavy plates per year. The production line is semi-automatic as some operations are carried out by an operator in the control cabin.
Coil mill
The hot rolling coil mill, low and medium carbon content, was designed for a production capacity of up to 700,000 tons per year. The working process is completely automatic and controlled by a PLC electronic system. Only a few settings are pre-set before rolling.
The raw material for both plate and coil rolling mills is obtained from continuous casting slabs with low to medium carbon content. The slabs are imported from the best foreign producers and are subsequently transformed in final products at the plant located in the province of Verona.
Production of structural steel for general purpose carried out in accordance with the EN 10025 European norm that concerns hot rolled products of non-alloy structural steels.
